Monaco Grand Prix

Chauffeur for the Monaco Grand Prix

3 to 6 June 2027, subject to FIA World Council approval. A chauffeur-driven fleet of prestige vehicles available in the Principality, and chauffeurs who know which streets still exist once half the city has become a circuit.

What actually changes

The race does not slow Monaco down. It cuts it in two.

Most guides describe Grand Prix traffic as heavy. That is the wrong picture. Monaco's road network is built on four tunnels, and during the meeting all four are closed. Routes are not congested — they no longer exist.

The four tunnels close

Rocher Albert Ier, Rocher Noghes, Sainte-Devote and the Debarcadere carry the traffic that normally crosses the Principality underneath the streets. With them shut, the arrival routes from Nice, Cap-d'Ail and Beausoleil have to be rebuilt from the outside in. Closures run from Thursday to Sunday, from early morning until the end of the day's sessions.

  • Quai des Etats-Unis, Boulevard Albert Ier: inside the circuit
  • Place du Casino and Avenue J.-F. Kennedy: closed on session days
  • Boulevard Louis II: closed, and it is the usual link to Fontvieille

Some hotels sit inside the security perimeter

The circuit encloses part of the city, and several hotels are within it — the Fairmont Monte Carlo gives its name to the hairpin, and the Metropole is inside the same envelope. A car cannot be brought to their door on a session day. Residents and staff keep access on presentation of identity papers or a work permit, but a visitor arriving by car does not.

This is the part worth planning before you book anything: the distance between the nearest legal stopping point and your door, at the hour you actually intend to move.

The dates

It is no longer the last weekend of May

Almost every English-language guide still places the Monaco Grand Prix at the end of May. That stopped being true in 2026, when the race ran on 5-7 June, and 2027 falls in June as well.

What is confirmed, and by whom

The Automobile Club de Monaco, which promotes the event, announces 3 to 6 June 2027, subject to approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council. The full 2027 Formula 1 calendar has not been published yet — it was pushed back to the autumn of 2026. We state the source rather than the certainty, because a date you plan a trip around should carry its provenance.

  • Thursday: practice, and the first closures
  • Friday to Sunday: the Principality operates around the circuit
  • Monday: the city is given back street by street, not all at once

The vehicles

The whole fleet, positioned before the weekend

You choose the car from its own page, with its model and its photographs — not a category assigned on the day. During the Grand Prix that matters more than usual: the vehicle and the pick-up point are agreed in advance, because improvising one on the day is not possible.

To be driven

The whole chauffeur-driven fleet is available — saloons, SUVs, a VIP van and exception cars — by the hour, by the day or for several days.

An executive saloon such as the Mercedes-Maybach S 580 for the days of meetings, a seven-seat VIP van as soon as you travel several with luggage, and the SUVs or exception cars when arriving is part of the point.

Booked in blocks, not per journey

During the Grand Prix, hire is counted in blocks rather than in single transfers — the car waits, because sending it away and calling it back is not an option that week.

What we do not sell

No tickets, no grandstands, no paddock access

Be told this now rather than later

We arrange transport, and around it the things a stay requires — a photographer, a restaurant table, a boat. We do not sell entry to the Grand Prix in any form: not grandstand seats, not paddock passes, not terrace places on the circuit. Anyone promising you those alongside a car is selling something they do not control.

If your tickets are already booked, tell us the gate printed on them. It changes the drop-off point more than the hotel does.
